Support over the holidays
During the summer break you can access support from the safeguarding team by emailing safeguarding@astreastivo.org The safeguarding team are working through the summer break. I’d like to remind you that a lot of support options can also be accessed via our student support booklet in ‘Supporting our Students’
Message from our principal
I’d like to make one last staffing announcement; this week we have appointed Dr Lucy Smith, as our SENDCo. Dr Smith is currently Second in department within the science department, and she is delighted to be moving into the role of SENDCO in September. Mr Robertson is one of my senior leadership team who has been in the role of SENDco this year, and Mrs Robertson will remain working closely with Dr Smith as she settles into the role. Our Send team will be in touch with families in September to invite you to a drop in coffee morning, where people can come and meet Dr Smith.
I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all families a lovely summer break. Thank you for your support, and in particular for all the gifts, cards and flowers that I have seen students giving to staff today to say thank you. It is a lovely gesture and very much appreciated when students say thank you to staff – with or without a gift.
I hope everyone has a relaxing summer break, and we will see students back in September (see dates/times below for specific year groups).

Timetables for September 2026
As some families have seen we are starting to populate timetables for September. This process will be completed during August.
Please note that some students have moved ‘year halves’ (north/south). This is to ensure we have an appropriate spread of abilities and can therefore best support all students in their learning.
Please also be aware that due to timetable coding a set ending in “1” may not necessarily be a top set and so on.
There will be further reviews of classes following assessment points during next academic year.

Well done to our golden ticket winners!

Dance Workshop
After graduating from London Studio Centre in 2016 Isaac made his debut in the UK Tour of Into The Hoods: Remixed(ZooNation). He later went on to play the featured dancer as part of the original west end cast of Bat out of Hell the Musical (Jay Scheib), Killerwatt in the German production of Starlight Express(Arlene Phillips) as well as being dance captain on the London returns of We Will Rock You(Ben Elton) and Starlight Express London(Luke Sheppard).
Alongside theatre work Isaac has worked commercially for companies such as Netflix, Honda, Sony and FIFA and has performed with artists such as Busta Rhymes, Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta.

Our BTEC dancers enjoyed a workshop learning repertoire from the musical “Bat Out of Hell”, and our KS3 dancers learned repertoire from “Starlight Express”. I am so proud of our dancers and the energy and enthusiasm they brought to the classes. They were professional throughout, listening to Isaac and following his directions, ending their sessions with some seriously great performances! A huge well done to all our dancers, what a fantastic way to end the year!
