Date: 5th-7th September 2025
Location: St Mary’s Church Whaplode, Spalding, PE12 6TA.
Some of our St Ivo students are participating in an Anglo Saxon re-enactment at St Mary’s Church Whaplode. The timeline of this event is 1125, which lines up well with kicking off year 7 History and the Norman conquest. There will be battle in the afternoons: “battle will feature a local skirmish following the fallout of runaway inflation in 1124”
The special weekend of celebrations is to mark its 900th anniversary. Across the three days, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including classic car, motorbike, and cycle displays, as well as a re-enactment group performing throughout the weekend. There will also be a wide selection of refreshments available, such as fish and chips, loaded fries, slow roast pork baps, sweet treats from The Vanilla Whisk, and drinks from the Cinnamon Shack and Iced Bar. On Saturday 6th September, the highlight will be a Military Wives Choir concert, with doors opening at 6:30 PM (tickets £10 each). Families can also look forward to face painting on Sunday, making it a fun and engaging event for all ages.
Please Note: This event is not in St Ives but has St Ivo students participating in the event.
