Message from our Principal
It has been lovely to welcome so many Year 6 families on tours to the school in recent weeks, and we look forward to welcoming lots of families to our Year 6 Open Evening on Thursday 15th October at 6pm.
I am aware that parents don’t always get to visit the school ‘in action’ during the day after their child has started in September, and we want you to have an understanding of how we operate and what we do in school in the day time. (And I always find teenagers particularly like their parents waving hello at them at school). Therefore we will be launching more regular school tours each half term where we will provide opportunities for families from each yeargroup to come and visit – so do watch out for these when we launch them. .
Safe journeys to and from school
We would like to remind all families of the importance of students observing road safety. In particular, students walking must use designated crossing points, waiting for the lights to change and not cut in front of traffic.
On arrival at school, students with bicycles should walk these through the grounds to one of the cycle racks. At the end of the day, students should not mount their bicycles until they are clear of the school site and groups of other students. Please ensure that students have suitable equipment during the year (e.g. helmet and lights). This should be regularly checked alongside the bicycle itself to ensure the equipment is safe for use. Where students are dropped off and collected by car, we ask that parents avoid using the school roundabout off High Leys during the busy periods before and after school.
Please also avoid dropping off on High Leys, Green Leys and Knights Way, as this causes congestion and some danger to crossing students, as well as inconvenience to local residents.
Instead, the One Leisure car park can be used and has more space. Please be considerate to others in the area, including the many children walking or cycling to and from school using Westwood Road.
Flu vaccinations
The majority of students in years 7, 8 and 9 received their flu vaccinations today. Years 10 and 11 will receive theirs next Friday, 16th October.
If you child is in years 7, 8 and 9 are was due to receive their flu vaccination today but did not for any reason, please ask them to come to the school gym at the start of period 3 next Friday.
Amazing Artwork
We are now excited to share our year 11 and year 13 artwork that they submitted for their exams! We continue to year in year out have incredible artists that continue to impress!
This artwork is collected by students but the photos of the artwork will be displayed!

Year 7 Homework
Students can access their homework using their St Ivo email account. Homework is listed on Bromcom, with platforms such as Sparx and Carousel used to monitor completion. If support is needed, students should speak to their form tutor, and all homework links can be found in the Homework section of the St Ivo website.
Please note that homework detentions may be issued from the week commencing 12 October.
Additional Support: Sparx Reader Club runs every Tuesday lunchtime in Room 23. Students requiring a queue jump pass should speak to Mrs Carter at breaktime on the gym steps.
Arts Award Opportunity for Year 8 Students
We are delighted to be offering all Year 8 students the opportunity to take part in the Arts Award Bronze programme from September 2026. This nationally recognised qualification encourages students to explore their creativity, develop new skills and engage with the arts both in and out of school.
Through subjects including Art & DT, Dance, Drama and Music, as well as extra-curricular activities, students will create a portfolio showcasing their artistic journey. The award helps build confidence, creativity, communication and leadership skills, whilst celebrating students’ achievements in the arts.
Further information has been sent to parents and carers, including details of the support available and how students can enrol in the programme. We look forward to seeing our young artists embrace this exciting opportunity.
