SENDIASS provides information, advice and support to parents, children and young people around special educational needs and disabilities throughout their educational journey. This includes health and social care when it is linked to education. We offer support to children, and young people aged 0 – 25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, their families and carers, in line with the requirements of the Children and Families Act 2014.

We are a free, dedicated, confidential and impartial service with staff who are independently trained and qualified to deliver information, advice, and support on special educational needs and disability.

We also support professionals offering generic legal advice and giving information on local policy and practice. We deliver training and information sessions on SEND issues and processes, and we attend SEND events and coffee mornings. Our advisers have specific ‘patch lists’ to develop and maintain positive working relationships within schools and settings and all other stakeholders within the community. Collaborative working is the most successful method to ensure the right support is available for our families.
