Lost property
It’s that time of year again! Our lost property is overflowing with unclaimed coats and water bottles, as well as many other items. Post-16 Applications
Internal MyChoice16 Deadline – 18th December
Each post-16 provider has its own application deadline. To ensure no student misses their chosen provider’s cut-off date, we have set an internal deadline of 18th December for all MyChoice16 applications.
This gives students enough time to receive support with completing and submitting their forms.
Yr11 Application Drop-ins:
- Lunchtimes, Room S15 – every Tuesday & Wednesday
- 1:1 Careers Advice: Book an appointment via the Careers Office
Students are strongly encouraged to attend the MyChoice16 drop-in sessions at lunchtime for tailored application support from our Careers Lead, Mrs Parks.
Safe journeys
We would like to reminder parent/ carers to kindly refrain from dropping off or picking up your child using the High Leys entrance and staff car park. This is to prevent traffic congestion and ensure safety. Where possible, please use the One Leisure car park.
Where students walk to school, please remind them to use designated road crossing points. Cyclists should wear helmets, ensure regular safety checks of bikes and again be aware of traffic.
£10,000 Arts Supplies for Schools Tokens
If you have been collecting the tokens from Ely Standard or Hunts Post – please bring them to reception or students can give to their tutors by Thursday 18th December!
Period 6 update
There will be no period 6 lessons for year 11 on Thursday 18th December.
Wellness from Vaccination UK
Respiratory and flu-like cases are rapidly on the rise. We urge you to ensure your child receives the flu vaccination. You have a choice between the quick and painless nasal spray or the Injection which is porcine & gelatine free. This not only protects your children against being seriously but also protects vulnerable members of your family and community.
We have several community catch-up clinics available this weekend. Please use this link to book an appointment
Vaccination UK Bedfordshire Immunisation
If you previously declined consent for your child when we visited the school, you CAN CHANGE your consent. Please call our office on 01480 275422, and we will book a clinic appointment for you.
Thank you for your support.
Year 9 setting – clarification
Thank you to parents and carers for the feedback on set changes for January. We wanted to clarify that sets 3 and 4 in year 9 are all mixed middle ability groups. This applies to sets 9N1, 9N2, 9T1 and 9T2. These groups have all include students with the same ability range and are expected to cover the same curriculum content at the same pace.
Homework and Revision page
To make it easier for students and parents we have created a hub for homework and revision resources that can be found under ‘our approach > Curriculum > Homework and Revision’. This will replace the KS3 revision and KS4 revision pages. Throughout the term knowledge organisers and additional resources will be uploaded. Here you will also find the links to homework platforms such as Sparx.
