Message from our Principal

A huge thank you to all the families from Year 11 and Year 10 who attended our Sixth Form Open Evening last night. It was a really positive event, and it has been great to talk to Year 11 students today about what different Sixth Form subjects are of interest to them.

We have a thriving Sixth Form here at St Ivo, with 160 students across Year 12 and Year 13, who study a mix of our 30 different subjects, and it was lovely to hear from a current Year 12 and Year 13 student during the presentation –  Rory and Rachel – and to hear them talk so positively about the experience at St Ivo Sixth Form.  Year 11 students will start to receive more information about St Ivo Sixth Form, and their other post-16 options shortly, including at our CAP event on the  October where they can talk to a range of post-16 providers and employers.

Sixth Form Open Evening

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Open Evening last night. It was a pleasure to welcome so many prospective students and families to show you why they should continue their education at St Ivo Sixth Form. All students and families received a copy of our prospectus and students who didn’t attend will receive one in tutor time.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Sixth Form Team. We look forward to welcoming many of you back in the future and thank you again for your interest in St Ivo Sixth Form.

Football Success and New Shirt Sponsors

Another week of fantastic football from our U13 girls in our first round national cup. We played some fantastic football and came away with a 9-0 win against Hampton Gardens. Every player showcased some fantastic football – Goals from Rylee x2, Evie x3, Kacie x1, Lou x1, Kiera x2. We progress alongside our U14 in the national cup competitions

This also means we remain unbeaten in our new sponsored kit from WSP! Thanks to their generous donation, we have been able to purchase two sets of new footballs and six brand-new kits for our football teams. We are incredibly grateful for WSP’s support and are excited to work with them throughout the year, including through mock interviews, careers events and other opportunities that will benefit our students.

Hello Yellow – World Mental Health Day

Hello Yellow Day – Friday 9th October

St Ivo Academy are turning the school yellow in celebration of World Mental Health Day on Friday 9th October. St Ivo will be participating in Hello Yellow, an initiative by Young Minds to raise awareness of mental health in students.

Students Y7-Y11 will be encouraged to accessorise their uniform with one item such as hair accessories (no yellow hair dyes), yellow socks, yellow scarf, yellow handkerchief (placed in blazer top pocket).

Sixth formers will be encouraged to dress in yellow!

Staff will be joining in by wearing yellow for the day.

Across the week, we will be running assemblies and tutor activities, to help raise the profile of this important day.
