Enrichment and EPQ

All students are expected to undertake at least one enrichment activity per week. Universities and the world of work expect excellent exam results AND evidence of voluntary contributions in and around the local community and the Academy. We are delighted that our students leave here with an excellent CV or UCAS application displaying their wide range of skills. The following are examples of the clubs and committees which our Sixth Form students can attend each week:

EPQ

The EPQ is an AS qualification which is taken in addition to your other A level courses. This allows you to independently research almost any topic of interest, an A level subject, something that you enjoyed at GCSE, or an outside interest. Those thinking of applying to university should take EPQ. It demonstrates an ability to work independently, and can be used in your Personal Statement to show passion for learning outside of lessons. Additionally, some universities can offer reduced entry requirements for students who have undertaken the EPQ.

Visiting Speakers

Students can benefit from a variety of visiting speakers throughout the year relating to universities, employment, apprenticeships, gap years & travel and personal development.
